BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia went to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Thursday night for a health check-up.

She left her Gulshan residence, “Firoza,” for the hospital around 8:30pm, said BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.

“Madam’s (Khaleda’s) medical board has advised some tests. She was taken to Evercare Hospital for those tests,” said her personal physician Professor AZM Zahid Hossain.

He said she will return home after the check-up.

Khaleda last visited Evercare Hospital on June 18 for a routine medical examination.

She returned to Bangladesh on May 6 after receiving advanced medical treatment in London, where she stayed for four months.

During her stay, she was treated by specialist doctors at the London Clinic.

Since returning to Dhaka, Khaleda Zia has been receiving treatment under the supervision of a medical board, led by Professor Shahabuddin Talukder of Evercare Hospital.

The medical team has been providing her with regular medical support at her home.

The former Prime Minister flew to London on 8 January this year for better treatment. She spent 17 days in the London Clinic and later continued treatment at her son Tarique Rahman’s residence, under the supervision of renowned specialists Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross.

After completing her treatment, she returned to Dhaka on May 6.

The 80-year-old former Prime Minister has been suffering from various health complications for several years, including liver, kidney, and heart-related issues.
