Killings during mass uprising: Trials to begin within a week, says adviser

Trials of those responsible for mass killings during the July-August uprising will begin within a week, Law and Justice Adviser Professor Dr Asif Nazrul has said.

"We are committed to ensuring justice. A panel of judges for the International Crimes Tribunal will be prepared within a week," he told reporters after emerging from a meeting at the Sri Sri Mahaprabhu Ashram in Sirajganj on Friday.

Dr Nazrul mentioned that the process for the trials of the mass killing has already begun. "Our prosecution team was formed nearly a month ago, and an investigation team was formed shortly after. We have gathered substantial evidence regarding the killings,” he said.
