The deadline for Hajj -2026 registration will end today (Sunday) as less than 20 per cent have so far completed their registration against the allocated quota of 127,198 for Bangladeshi pilgrims.
Until 7:30 pm on Sunday a total of 21,826 completed their Hajj registration accounting for only 17.16 per cent of the quota.
Of them, 2,912 have registered for performing Hajj under the government management and 18,914 under private management.
The ministry of religious affairs has urged the Hajj agencies to complete registration formalities by today (Sunday).
The Saudi government allocated a quota of 127,198 for Bangladeshis to perform Hajj next year.
The religious affairs ministry said that in the current year 329 Hajj agencies couldn't register any Hajj pilgrim.
It said that administrative action would be taken against those agencies who failed to register any Hajj pilgrim and had no valid reason for it.
An influential leader of Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) said that they were expecting a rise in the registration today (Sunday).
As per Hajj Package and Guideline 2026, a single Hajj agency could register at least 46 Hajj pilgrims.
Subject to appearance of the moon, the holy Hajj will be performed on May 26, 2026.
