The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind across various places in the country over the next 24 hours, beginning at 9:00 am.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country," said a BMD bulletin this morning.

Day and night temperature, however, may rise slightly over the country during the period, reports BSS, citing the met office prediction.

In addition, monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay, it said, adding that a low-pressure area is likely to form over northwest Bay and adjoining area during the next 24 hours.

On Sunday, the highest temperature recorded was 33.5 degrees Celsius in Srimangal, while the lowest temperature was 24 degrees Celsius in Rangamati.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:24 pm today and will rise at 5:38 am tomorrow.
