A low-pressure area has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal, adjoining West Bengal and the Bangladesh coast, says the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
The BMD has asked the four maritime ports at Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra to continue hoisting local cautionary signal No. 3.
The weather forecast on Sunday morning shows that deep convection is taking place over the north bay, accompanied by gusty and squally weather that may affect the ports and coastal areas.
The Met Office asked the ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra to continue hoisting local cautionary signal No. 3.
It also asked the boats and fishing trawlers in the north bay to remain near the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
