A low pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal and adjoining area possibly on May 27, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Southwest monsoon has advanced up to Cox's Bazar coast of Bangladesh and conditions are favourable for further advancement, said a Met office bulletin on Sunday, UNB reports.
Trough of low lies over West Bengal to North Bay across Southwestern part of Bangladesh.
It predicted light to moderate rain/thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal andChattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in 24 hours from 9am.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.
