Man crushed under bus in Habiganj

A man was crushed under the wheels of a bus on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Bhanudeb village under Nabiganj upazila in Habiganj district of Sylhet on Monday morning.

The deceased, identified as Motai Miah (55), was a resident of the same village.

The accident occurred around 10:00 am when the Sylhet-bound ‘Sagorika Paribahan’ bus hit him while he was crossing the highway beside his house, leaving him dead on the spot, said Abdur Rahman, in-charge of Goplar Bazar Police Investigation Camp.

Later, the angry villagers blocked the highway for one and half hour which halted vehicular movement.

Tipped off, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, reports UNB.
