Man held trying to sell pistol looted from police station

A 28-year-old man was detained along with a 9mm pistol while trying to sell it in the Shahin Academy area of the Feni district town on Wednesday night.

The detained youth was identified as Rubel, son of Bahar Mia from Dharmapur Union in Feni Sadar Upazila, said Md Ruhul Amin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Feni Model Police Station.

As well as the pistol, fourteen rounds of ammunition and two magazines were also recovered from the arrestee, he said.

After legal proceedings, Rubel was sent to jail, the OC added.

Earlier, on August 5, following the fall of the government, incidents of attacks, vandalism, arson, and looting took place at three police stations and the Mohipal Traffic Police Box in Feni.
