A man has been shot at Dhaka’s Kadamtali and left in a “critical condition”.
Around 6:15pm on Saturday, Md Shahin, 31, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after being shot in Jurain Chairman Bari locality, police said.
Shahin works at a furniture shop in the area.
Inspector Md Faruk, chief of DMCH Police Camp, said the victim’s condition is “critical” and he is being treated.
Kadamtali Police Inspector (Investigation) Md Safayet Hossain said, “We believe the shooting is linked to a dispute over drug trafficking. Both parties involved are active in drug dealing and use in the area.
“The attack appears to be the result of a long-standing feud,” he added.
Md Mohon, a bystander who helped take Shahin to hospital, said: “Around the evening, someone shot him at the back of his head near the Jurain Chairman Bari before fleeing the scene.”
