Some unidentified miscreants hurled two crude bombs at the house of Asaduzzaman Bablu, general secretary of Gangni upazila unit BNP at Cougaccha in Meherpur on Wednesday night.
Tozbira Zaman, wife of the BNP leader, said a group of miscreants hurled two bombs targeting their house at around 9:00pm.
They also fired multiple gunshots in the air, creating panic among the locals, UNB reports quoting Tozbira.
Being informed, police went to the spot and started investigating the incident, said Harendra Nath Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Gangni Police Station.
However, Asaduzzaman Bablu, also the former UP chairman, was out of home for electioneering, said his wife Tozbira.
