A man with mental disorders was allegedly beaten to death in Randila Maddyapara area of Gopalnagar union in Dhunat upazila of Bogra district on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Shukur Ali, 50, son of Jasher Ali Sheikh, a resident of Chwakdakatia Daser Char, reports UNB.
According to local sources, Shukur Ali, who was recently suffering from mental illness, went to neighbouring Randila Maddyapara area in the morning and involved in altercation with several people.
At one stage, they beat up Shukur Ali and also hit his head, leaving him dead on the spot.
Khokan Kumar Kundu, sub-inspector of Dhunat Police Station, said police recovered the body and sent it to Bogra Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
