A man was killed allegedly by his mentally challenged son in Gazipur in the early hours of Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Hye, 55.
Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station, said the incident took place at Uttarsoum in Kaliganj upazila, Hye's son Hridoy, 18, attacked him while he was sleeping at around 5:00 am.
Being obstructed, Hridoy hit him with a stone on his head, leaving him critically injured. Hye was rushed to upazila health complex where doctors declared him dead, UNB reported.
Police detained Hridoy.
