Met Office forecasts rain in parts of country

Some parts of the country are likely to see rainfall on Thursday and Friday, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

“Light rain/drizzle is likely to occur at one or two places in Barishal & Chattogram divisions in the next 24 hours commencing from 9:00 am today,” the BMD said in a weather forecast this morning.

In its 24-hour forecast, the Met Office said weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country. Moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the country during midnight to next morning.

Night temperature may fall by (1-3)°C while day temperature may rise slightly over the country during the period, according to the forecast.

Apart from this, in its weather outlook for the next 72 hours, the Met Office said night temperature may fall further.

Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining area, the Met Office says its forecast valid for 24 hours, adding that seasonal low lies over South Bay.

The sun sets at 5:37 pm on Thursday, according to the Met Office forecast, while it rises at 6:43 am on Friday in Dhaka.
