Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty wind, is likely to occur at most places over the eight divisions across the country.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions with heavy to heavy falls at places over the country", said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours commencing from 9:00 am today (Thursday).
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, reports BSS.
The low pressure area over Northwest Bay and adjoining area now lies over South Bihar and adjoining area. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, centre of the low to Assam across southern part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.
The country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded by 33.5 degree Celsius jointly at Rangpur and Sayedpur and minimum temperature today was recorded by 23.8 degree Celsius at Tetulia.
Country's highest rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00 am today was recorded by 66 millimeters (mm) at Maijdi Court.
The sun sets at 5:57 pm today and rises at 5:47 am tomorrow in the capital.
