Met Office predicts rain, thundershowers in parts of country

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur in different regions of the country today (Tuesday) and it may continue until Wednesday, according to an official at Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

Talking to The Financial Express, Abdul Mannan, a BMD meteorologist said rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions as well as the districts of Kishoregonj, Brahmanbaria, and Narsingdi.

The BMD in a weather forecast this morning said weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

 In its 24-hour forecast, the Met Office said day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

A trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area, it said, adding that seasonal low lies over South Bay.

In its next 72-hour forecast, the Met Office said weather may see little change during the period.

The sun sets at 6:05 pm on Tuesday, according to the Met Office forecast, while it rises at 6:13 am on Wednesday in Dhaka.
