Police have announced that a metro rail coach will be reserved to transport those injured in the Bangladesh Air Force plane crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Diabari.

On Monday, the Police Headquarters said that the coach next to the women’s compartment on metro trains will carry the victims, bdnews24.com reports.

More than 50 injured students have already been admitted to various hospitals, including the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Doctors report that most of the victims have suffered burn injuries.

An F-7 BGI training jet crashed shortly after takeoff around 1:06pm on Monday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The plane burst into flames right after the crash. A plume of thick smoke could be seen from quite a distance. Eight Fire Service units rushed to the scene to put out the flames.

Lima Khanam, duty officer at the Fire Service Central Control Room, said: “The training aircraft crashed at the Milestone School and College in Diabari. Our team has recovered one body. The Air Force has rescued four people with injuries and taken them away.”

Two people have reportedly died so far. The ISPR has yet to release any information about the pilot.

Shah Bulbul, a Milestone School and College spokesman, said: “The plane fell on the gate and crashed nearby. Classes were in session where the plane crashed with young students inside. The injured are being taken out one by one.”
