Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director Faruq Ahmed has said that metro rail services between Agargaon and Uttara will resume soon, though operations on the Agargaon–Motijheel section will remain suspended due to technical issues.

He made the statement on Sunday (October 26) afternoon while visiting the site of the recent accident near the Farmgate Metro Rail Station, according to local media reports.

“Because of the accident, train operations on this section may not resume today. However, services from Agargaon to Uttara will restart very soon,” he told reporters.

Earlier in the day, metro rail operations were suspended after a bearing pad fell from a metro rail pillar in Farmgate, killing a pedestrian identified as Abul Kalam, a resident of Naria in Shariatpur district.

The accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Since then, metro rail services have been suspended along the entire Uttara–Motijheel route.
