The metro rail operation will not resume on Saturday as initially announced, because the authorities were unable to complete the required technical tests.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL), the operating agency of metro rail, disclosed it in a statement on Thursday night.
The authorities could not give any fresh date for resuming the operations.
The decision came as the authorities could not start the required technical tests before relaunch of the service due to unavoidable circumstances, the statement said.
Sources indicated that the metro authority was unable to start the trial run of the metro rail due to an ongoing work abstain by a group of DMTCL employees.
The DMTCL regretted the inconvenience the commuters would be facing.
