The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has announced that metro rail services will remain suspended on Eid day, alongside a special operating schedule for the holidays.
On Thursday, the DMTCL released a revised schedule.
According to that, during the Eid holiday period, the first train from Uttara North station will depart at 6:30am, while the first train from Motijheel will leave at 7:15am.
The last trains will operate at 9:30pm from Uttara North and 10:10pm from Motijheel.
During this period, trains will run at intervals of 12 to 15 minutes. Around 140 trips will be operated daily using seven train sets, though the number of trips may be increased or reduced depending on passenger demand.
Under normal operations, metro rail services run from 7am to 9:40pm.
This year’s Eid holidays will last seven days, beginning on Monday, May 25.
The DMTCL also said single-journey tickets will be available from 6:40am to 9:20pm, while MRT and Rapid Pass top-up facilities will remain operational.
On Fridays, single-journey ticket sales will begin at 2:45pm from Uttara North station and at 3:05pm from Motijheel station.
All ticket counters and vending machines across stations will be closed after 9:20pm, the authorities said.
