Mild cold wave sweeping over parts of country: Met Office

A mild cold wave is sweeping over parts of the country and it may spread, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said on Thursday.

“Mild cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Panchagarh and Chuadanga and it may spread,” according to the regular weather bulletin, as per a UNB report.

Night temperature may fall by 1-2 degrees Celsius and day temperature may rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the country, it said.

The weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

The lowest temperature in the country today was recorded at 9.1 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi’s Badalgachhi, while the highest temperature was recorded at 28.6 degrees Celsius in Teknaf on Wednesday.

The ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining Western part of Bangladesh.

Seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay.
