A case has been filed against Milton Samader, the chairman of Child and Old Age Care, on the charge of forging death certificates.
Mohammad Kamal Pasha, Deputy Inspector of the Detective Branch (DB) under Dhaka Metropolitan Police, filed the case with Mirpur Model Police Station on Thursday.
Police said the recording of two other cases was in process on the charge of human trafficking and illegally detaining people.
Milton rose to fame by sheltering helpless people in his Child and Old Age Care. Media reports, however, suggest that he embezzled a huge amount of money collected for the care home and that he stole the organs of many people taking refuge there, under the cover of his charitable activities.
Police picked him up from Mirpur on Wednesday evening for interrogation following the media reports.
He has already been shown arrested and presented before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka in the certificate forgery case.
DB's Mirpur Division Deputy Commissioner Manas Kumar Poddar said Milton Samaddar forged the death certificates of many people who had died in his care home.
He issued the certificates faking the signatures and seals of doctors.
