A Dhaka court has placed Milton Samader, the chairman of Child and Old Age Care, on a three-day remand in a death certificate forgery case filed against him.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain passed the remand order on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Deputy Inspector of the Detective Branch (DB) under Dhaka Metropolitan Police Mohammad Kamal Pasha produced him before the court and appealed for a seven-day remand.

The case was filed against Milton over the forgery of physicians' signatures and death certificates of many people who died in his care home.

The Child and Old Age Care chairman's detention comes following media reports alleging that he embezzled a huge amount of money donated to the care home and stole the organs of many people taking refuge there under the guise of charitable activities.
