The home minister said the government has strengthened security measures for foreign nationals, including diplomats stationed in Dhaka, tourists and foreign workers in the country.

Asaduzzaman Khan on Sunday told parliament, “We've strengthened security measures and intelligence vigilance."

He came up with the information while responding to a question from Begum Lutfa Taher (Women Seat 40), says UNB.

According to him, the improvement in law-and-order situation and ensuring peaceful and stable environment are the prerequisites to development.

The minister mentioned that the government introduced Bangladesh Police Helpline Apps to make sure that people get the desired services.

He said, "We've already formed Anti-Terrorism Unit to prevent terrorism and militants activities."

According to him, the government agencies concerned are working to make the country free from illegal drugs.

"We're talking about a social movement. We're working out a mechanism to fully control the (illegal) use of drug," he said recalling the prime minister's zero tolerance policy.

The minister, responding to a question, said the law will take its own course if anybody takes law in his or her own hand.
