The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism has issued a 10-point directive to tackle the abnormal increase in ticket prices of Biman Bangladesh Airlines flights.

The directives were issued through a circular on Tuesday.

The ministry said all sorts of bookings, including group bookings, must be conducted using names, passport numbers, and photocopies of passports of passengers.

“If the ticket is not issued in the name of the concerned passenger within three days, the booking will be cancelled after the end of the 72-hour period automatically,” the ministry said.

The ministry asked the airlines and travel agencies to complete sales of tickets blocked through group bookings till the issuance of the circular within the next seven days.

“Otherwise, the tickets will be cancelled automatically,” it said.

In the case of group bookings, the actual price of the tickets will have to be informed to the civil aviation ministry. Besides, the prices will be published on websites as public information.

The ministry also issued eight other directives with an aim to protect the rights of passengers.
