Miscreants set fire on Hindu community establishments in Faridpur

Miscreants set fire on seven establishments of Hindu community in Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur on early Saturday.

 

Police sources said the miscreants set fire on, cowshed, porch of the house and the piles of junket at Goriadoho, Nischintopur, Laxmipur, Bhellakandhi villages of Dumain union and Paschim Arpara village of Arpara union of the upazila, reports UNB.

 

Police said the miscreants torched the establishments near the Puja mandaps of local Hindu community.

 

Madhukhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Lutfunnahar said the unidentified criminals set fire to those establishments to create panic ahead of Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindus.

 

Shafikur Islam, officer-in-charge of Madhukhali Police Station, said they have beefed up security measures in the upazila to ward off any untoward incident.
