An activist of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) was dead by some miscreants at Uttar Yearengchhari in Langdu upazila of Rangamati on early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Snehasish Chakma.
Ranjan Kumar Samanta, officer-in-charge of Langdu Police Station, said a group of miscreants swooped on the house of Snehasish and opened fire on him, leaving him dead sometime at night, UNB reported.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue on Thursday morning.
