A man was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants at Patkajor in Keraniganj in the early hours of Wednesday.
The dead man was identified as Jakir Hossain Rubel, 42, an employee of a cloth store at Alam Market in the area and hailed from Kalkini upazila in Madaripur district.
Sarwar Hossain, officer-in-charge (operation) of Keraniganj Model Polce Station, said a group of miscreants entered into a 2nd floor flat of a house, owned by one Wahidul Islam Mia, in the area and stabbed the victim indiscriminately at around 1:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police went to the spot and recovered the body, and later sent it to Mitford Hospital morgue for an autopsy, reports UNB.
The body bored several injury marks, said OC.
