Police have arrested a tea shop owner for allegedly violating a physically challenged minor girl at Nagar Konda Jamaddarpara in Savar.
The arrestee is Majibar Rahman, 35, hail from Jamaddarpara.
Police said Majibar raped the 11-year-old girl at her own residence on Sunday morning when her grandmother went to a nearby shop leaving her alone, said Sub-inspector of Savar Model Police Station Nurul Huda.
Sensing the incident, locals informed it to local union parishad chairman who called in police, reports UNB.
The law enforcers arrested the young man and produced him before a court seeking a five-day remand, the SI added.
The minor girl was also sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for medical test.
