A missing schoolboy was found dead at a cropland at Charfalkan in Kamalnagar upazila of Lakshmipur on Thursday.
The deceased, Sharif Hossain, went missing on Saturday.
He was a student of a local primary school and son of Omar Faruk of the village.
Quoting family members of the victim, police said Sharif went to a fish enclosure at Ayubnagar on Saturday and he remained missing since then.
Later, the victim's family lodged a general diary with Kamalnagar Police Station.
On Thursday, local people spotted the decomposed body of Sharif at a Soya field and informed police, said Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kamalnagar Police Station.
According to UNB, police recovered the body and sent it to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
