Mohibul questions intention behind road blockades on sub-judice matter

Amid ongoing protests against the restoration of the quota system in government jobs, Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury has raised questions about the intention behind blocking roads before getting a final decision on the sub-judice matter.

“In many cases, a vested quarter instigates in many ways to destroy stability,” the minister said while talking to the journalists at a programme at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity in the capital on Sunday.

He said citizens can make comments but the government will have to wait for the final decision from the apex court on the issue.

Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury said although many people in abroad sometimes spread rumours about freedom of express in Bangladesh, this movement proved that Bangladesh upholds people’s right to express their opinions.
