Commissioner Md Mohsin Chowdhury has been appointed as the acting chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).
The appointment comes a day after Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam resigned as chairman of BSEC last Saturday night (August 10).
Mr Chowdhury appointed acting chairman by the Financial Institutions Division (FID) under the Ministry of Finance, following a directive from the President.
With his appointment taking effect on Saturday last, he will be serving as the acting chairman of BSEC until further notice, the FID said in an order.
