The government is set to finalise Mosque Management Policy 2025 this month aiming at protecting the interests of imams and muezzins.

A high official at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) said the policy is now being drafted considering the demand of the present time and it will help bring order to the mosque's management and supervision.

He said the Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB), which is under MoRA, held meeting on the policy on October 15 to get recommendations of the stakeholders.

Asked on the completion of the policy, the high official said the draft policy will be finalised soon considering the recommendations given by the imams and muezzins of mosques.

He said they are expecting that the policy will get government nod during the current month.

Once the policy gets the government nod, it will protect and defend the interests of imams and muezzins.

Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain directed the officials concerned to prepare the policy incorporating suggestions of all stakeholders. Afterwards, the government formed a committee to prepare the draft policy.

The Mosque Management (Amended) Policy 2025 is a new policy for modernising mosque administration in Bangladesh.

After the government approval on the policy, a gazette notification will be published.
