Mother hands over drug-addict son to police in Rajbari

An annoyed mother handed over her drug-addict son to police in Goalanda municipality area of Rajbari district on Thursday night.

The arrestee is Mashiur Rahman Sumon, 28, son of late Azibor Rahman of Kaimoddin para area, according to a local media report.

Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Abdullah Al-Mamun said Jinnantun Nesa filed a written complaint with Goalandaghat police station on Thursday evening.

Later, a mobile court was sent to Sumon's house which sentenced him six months jail under the Narcotics Control Act.

"Sumon used to hit family members if he failed to buy drugs. I had no way without handing him over to police," Jinnantun Nesa said.
