Motorcyclist killed after being hit by bus in Gopalganj

A motorcyclist was killed and another injured after being hit by a bus on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Gopalganj district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Kinai Sarkar (40), son of Abhimanyu Sarkar of Borashi Dakshinpara area of Sadar upazila. He was working as a security guard at Borashi Dakshinpara Durga Puja Mandap.

Injured Swapan Biswas, former member of Borashi Union, was critically injured in the incident, according to media reports.

Quoting locals, highway police said the accident took place in the Mandartala area of ​​Sadar upazila in the morning when a Dhaka-bound bus hit their motorcycle from behind.

They were taken to the Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital where doctors declared Kinai Sarkar dead. The injured Swapan is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
