MP Anar murder in India follows two failed attempts on his life in Bangladesh: DB

Plans to murder lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar were made twice before his recent death, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner Harun-Or-Rashid on Saturday.

“Of the plans, one was made before the national election and another after the election in January,” he told reporters at the Detective Branch (DB) office on Minto Road in Dhaka.

Failing to execute both the plans in Bangladesh, the perpetrators carried out a third attempt on MP Anar’s life, leading to his death, Harun said.

A DB team led by Harun is set to visit India in the coming days as part of the investigation.
