A four-member Detective Branch (DB), led by its chief Harun-or-Rashid, left Dhaka for Nepal on Saturday as part of their investigation into the murder of lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar.
According to local media reports, the Nepalese police on Thursday arrested Siam Hossain, one of the key suspects in the murder of MP Anar in India.
A flight, carrying the detective team, departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:00 am, report local media.
Earlier on Sunday (26 May), a three-member DB team went to Kolkata to investigate the murder. After four days of investigation, they returned to Dhaka on Thursday (30 May).
MP Anar went to Kolkata on May 11 for medical treatment and he remained untraced since May 14.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on May 22 said the MP was brutally killed at a flat in New Town, near Kolkata. A case was filed on May 22 following the death of the Bangladeshi lawmaker.
