A gang of muggers stabbed a 'bKash' agent to death in the city's Uttara area on Thursday.

The victim is identified as Alamin, 25.

When Alamin was collecting money from bKash agent shops in Uttara sector no 5, around 10:30am three muggers riding on a private car appeared there and intercepted him, said UNB citing Taposh Kumar Das, Assistant Commissioner (Uttara Zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

As the gangsters tried to snatch his bag, containing money, he tried to resist them but at one stage they stabbed him indiscriminately and fled the scene with the bag, the AC said.

Alamin was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, he said.

Police could not confirm immediately how much money was snatched away.

However, in primary investigation, police found that Alamin collected Tk 80,000 from a bKash shop just before the incident.
