Nobel Laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus will lead the upcoming interim government of Bangladesh as the chief adviser, local news portals said citing a press release.
The decision was taken during a meeting night between President Mohammed Shahabuddin and the key coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement held at Bangabhaban on Tuesday in presence of the chiefs of three services.
President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin informed that the decision to choose Dr Muhammad Yunus as the head of the interim government was taken during the meeting.
The press secretary said the names of other members of the interim government will be finalised after discussion with different political parties.
Dhaka University’s two teachers Professor Asif Nazrul and Professor Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan were also present at the meeting along with the 13-member delegation of the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement.
