Legendary Bangladeshi singer Sabina Yasmin has been hospitalised again after falling ill for a second time in two days.

She was admitted to Popular Medical College Hospital in Dhaka in the wee hours of Saturday.

Later in the noon, she was transferred to the High Dependency Unit, or HDU, for closer monitoring, singer Dithi Anwar told Glitz.

Dithi added, “She [Sabina Yasmin] had stayed at United Hospital for a while on Friday night and was feeling better, so she returned home that night.

“But in the early hours, she felt dizzy and collapsed in the washroom. She was then taken to Popular Hospital.

“She is under doctors’ observation there. She can talk and is conscious.”

Dithi explained that, due to the recurrence of the same issue over two consecutive days, the veteran singer was moved to the HDU for intensive monitoring and further tests.

“She has diabetes, high blood pressure, and vertigo, so they are checking everything.

“However, the doctors have confirmed that she is stable.”

On Friday evening, Sabina Yasmin collapsed on stage while performing at a hotel in Dhaka.

She had been away from the stage for over a year, spending a long time abroad for medical treatment as her cancer had relapsed.

After undergoing treatment and radiotherapy, she recovered and resumed singing.

On Friday evening, she was performing at the event “Our Sabina Yasmin: I Am Here to Stay” at a hotel in Banani.

Sabina was also scheduled to perform on the same stage on Saturday, but the event has been cancelled, confirmed Dithi.

She was first diagnosed with cancer in 2007 but recovered after treatment and returned to a normal life and her music career.

Over the years, she performed not only in Bangladesh but also in the United States, Australia, and several other countries.

In February last year, news of her cancer relapse surfaced, making headlines both in Bangladesh and Indian media.

Later, in a message to the public, Sabina revealed that she was undergoing treatment in Singapore. She mentioned that on Feb 7 last year, she had a minor surgery on her tooth, followed by multiple rounds of radiotherapy for a full recovery.

Recently, she returned to Dhaka. On Jan 4, when the body of Dhaka film actress Anjana Rahman was brought to the Channel i premises, Sabina was present.

There, she reminisced about her childhood friend Anjana, sharing old memories with journalists.
