Freed from the hands of Somali pirates, the Bangladeshi flag-carrier ship ‘MV Abdullah’ has finally reached Dubai city of United Arab Emirates, local media reported.
The ship reached Al Hamriya port on Sunday afternoon, said Kabir Group's media focal person Mizanul Islam.
He said, “The ship reached the outer anchorage of Al Hamriya port a little after 4:00 pm Bangladesh time. It is now awaiting docking at the port.”
Ship tracking website MarineTraffic also reported that the ship was waiting to enter the port.
On March 12, MV Abdullah was captured by pirates 600 nautical miles off the coast of Somalia on its way to Dubai with coal from Mozambique. The owner had said that the ship and its 23 sailors were taken hostage at gunpoint.
After 33 days, on April 13, around 3:00 pm, the pirates left the ship. It was then sailed for Dubai's Al Hamriya port.
