The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has revised the shortened syllabus for the 2026 Secondary School Certificate examinations within five days of its initial release, making changes to the Bangla subject.
The syllabus was published on Thursday on the NCTB website.
The entire syllabus has been republished as changes have been made to the Bangla syllabus, NCTB Curriculum Committee Member Rabiul Kabir Chowdhury told bdnews24.com.
Earlier, the revised and abbreviated syllabus for the 2026 SSSC examinations was published on Dec 28.
On that day, syllabuses for 32 subjects under Science, Commerce, and Humanities divisions were made available on NCTB’s website.
The students who are entering the 10th grade in 2025 will follow the syllabus.
The division system for grades 9 and 10 had been lifted under the new curriculum during the former Awami League regime.
Authorities are restoring the division system from the year 2025 following the political changeover.
The NCTB has published the short syllabus, question format, and marks distribution for the 2026 exams following the reintroduction of the system.
Under the new syllabus, the subjects without practical components, will cover 70 marks for narrative while the MCQ portion will have 30 marks.
The subjects with practical components will carry 75 marks for the theoretical section while the practical section will cover 25 marks.
