No decision yet on president’s removal, says CA’s press secretary

Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Islam said on Wednesday that no decision has been made regarding the removal of President Mohammed Shahabuddin. 

Any developments would be shared, he said, adding updates would be available if the advisers council held a meeting. A meeting is scheduled for tomorrow.

Islam made these remarks during a press briefing outside the Chief Adviser’s residence Jamuna.

When asked if the Chief Adviser’s meeting with BNP earlier in the day was related to the president’s resignation, Islam said that political parties are seen as partners and that dialogue with them is ongoing. He noted that today’s meeting with the BNP was part of broader talks with various political parties.
