Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen has said the country will not see any shortage of anti-venom for Russell's Viper (Chandrabora) as the country has sufficient stock.
The minister said this at a scientific seminar arranged by the Bangladesh Society of Medicine in Dhaka on Thursday, according to local media reports.
Advising not to spread wrong information, the health minister said there are sufficient stocks of the anti-venom.
“Even if there is no, we will bring, but we will not allow a crisis in any way,” said the minister.
Dr Sen insisted on bringing the patients to the hospital after the snake bite. He said, "After the snake bite, the patient should be brought to the hospital immediately. Only then can death be avoided.”
