No threat of sabotage in empty Dhaka, says home affairs adviser

Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md. Alam Chowdhury has said there is no threat of sabotage in Dhaka during the Eid holidays.

He made the remarks on Saturday while speaking to reporters after visiting the Gabtoli bus terminal, one of the capital’s main entry and exit points.

Dhaka is gradually getting empty as a mass exodus of holidaymakers takes place ahead of the largest Muslim festival.

The Home Affairs Adviser also said that although many Dhaka residents are away for Eid, security forces, including the police, BGB, and Ansar, remain on duty to ensure public safety in the capital.
