NOAB forms new committee

The Newspaper Owners’ Association of Bangladesh (NOAB) has formed its new executive committee for a two-year term.

The committee was formed during the annual general meeting of the association on Sunday, the NOAB said in a press release.

On behalf of the Election Board, Shamsul Huq Zahid, editor of The Financial Express, announced the names of the new committee members.

AK Azad, managing director of Samakal publisher Times Media Limited, has again been elected president of the new committee.

Apart from this, ASM Shahidullah Khan, chairman of New Age Editorial Board, and Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, chief editor of Manab Zamin, have again been elected vice president and treasurer, respectively, of the committee.

The executive committee members are: Matiur Rahman, editor and publisher of Prothom Alo, Mahfuz Anam, editor and publisher of The Daily Star, Tasmima Hossain, editor of Ittefaq, MA Malek, editor of Dainik Azadi, Mozammel Hoque, editor of Karatoa, Altamash Kabir, editor of Sangbad, Nayem Nizam, editor of Bangladesh Pratidin, Tarik Sujat, director of Bhorer Kagoj, Dewan Hanif Mahmud, editor and publisher of Bonik Barta, and Shamim Islam, director (Jamuna Group MD) of Jugantor.
