The National Pension Authority (NPA) on Wednesday signed memorandums of understanding (MoU) with seven public- and private-sector banks to expand its subscriber base.
The banks are: Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Janata Bank PLC, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, Prime Bank PLC, Dutch-Bangla Bank PLC, Eastern Bank PLC, and Mutual Trust Bank PLC, says a press release.
These banks will accept subscription fees of various instruments under the Universal Pension Scheme and will assist aspirants to get registered with the programmes.
Customers will also be able to get registered and pay online by using the apps of these banks.
The branches of these banks will act as the NPA front offices and take measures to make the subscription process easier.
Earlier, the NPA signed MoUs with four banks - Sonali, Agrani, BRAC, and City - to carry out similar activities.
Finance Division Secretary Dr. Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder attended the signing ceremony as chief guest while managing directors of the seven banks, senior officials of the NPA, and senior officials of the finance ministry were present.
