The number of students achieving GPS-5 in the SSC and equivalent examinations witnessed a sharp 32 per cent decline this year.
The total number of students who achieved the highest GPA stood at 1,83,578 in 2023, compared to the 2,69,602 who received the same GPA last year, as reported by local newspapers.
Education Minister Dipu Moni revealed the information when she was formally disclosing the results of SSC and other equivalent exams.
The minister handed over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Gono Bhaban around 9:00am.
The pass rate in this year's SSC and equivalent exams is 80.39 per cent.
