Officials of 25 cadres to observe full-day work stoppage Sunday

Officials from 25 cadres of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) will observe a full-day work stoppage on Sunday, demanding the withdrawal of the dismissal orders issued to 12 officers for expressing their views on Facebook.

They have also called for the elimination of inter-cadre discrimination.

The announcement was made by Muhammad Mofizur Rahman, coordinator of the Inter-Cadre Discrimination Eradication Council, at a press conference held at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh auditorium in the capital today (Saturday).

"If the issue is not resolved within the next week, we will be forced to announce more stringent programs," he said.
