A truck driver was killed and his helper injured as a speeding truck rammed into their parked truck from behind on Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj on Friday morning, said police.
The deceased was identified as Hafizur Rahman, 40, and the injured helper is Abul Kalam, 45, as per a UNB report.
Hasara highway police outpost in-charge Abdul Kader Jilani said the accident occurred at around 6am when the speeding truck crashed into the parked truck where the victims were changing a wheel of the vehicle.
The accident left the trucker dead on the spot, he said, adding that traffic movement remained suspended for a while.
Deputy Director of Munshiganj Fire Service Safikul Islam said they sent the injured to Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex after rescuing from the spot.
