Adabar Police Station officials in the 24 hours to Wednesday morning arrested 25 people as part of their "Operation Devil Hunt" from the city's Adabar and Mohammadpur areas, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Mohammadpur Zone Assistant Police Commissioner A K M Mehedi Hasan said.
Police arrested Rahim (15), Imon (15), Md Hossain (15), Tofel (20), Syed Ahmed, Md Swapan Kazi (40), Md Jubair Islam (31), Md Faruk (42), Md Masum Mia (34), Md Anwar Hossain (37), Md Faird (28), Md Imon (28) and Md Al Amin (19) from Adabar area.
The individuals who were nabbed from Mohammadpur are: Yousuf (21), Antar (22), Azuzul (22), Manik (22), Mahabub (18), Anwar alias Kazi Anwar (35), Mannan (24), Shihab (23), Hasan (24), Badhan (20), Md Rubel Ahmed (32) and Noor Hossain (22).
Among the arrestees, Md Rubel Ahmed is the son of Rajjak Matabbar, who works as a driver. He went into hiding at Metro Housing in Basila, Mohammadpur area in the capital, but was arrested on Wednesday morning.
He was engaged in hatching conspiracy to oust the present interim government, the police official said, adding that the arrestees were sent to the court.
The police official further said that their operation will continue.
